Began leading with K2 Extreme:
February 2004
Activities lead:
Specialise in beginner's track walks.
Years experience:
10yrs
Previous experiance:
I have mainly walked in South East Queensland especially Lamington Nation Park and Fraser Island. However, on occasion I have walked in the Northern Territory, far North Queensland, the ACT and the Highlands of Papua New Guinea.
What do you enjoy about being a leader:
The thing that I enjoy the most is the fact that walking in the bush is about as far away from driving a computer as you can get. I love the structured chaos of the bush.
Why did you become a leader:
I found it too easy for me to turn the alarm off on the morning of a walk, roll over and go back to sleep with the resolve that I'll do it better next time.
An added bonus is being able to do something you really enjoy with a group of interesting and (mostly) new people on a regular basis.
Other hobbies/interests:
Photography, camping, motorcycling and keeping tropical fish.
