Kayak trip to Peel Island & North Stradbroke Island
Date: 14/03/2010
Leader: Rob Townsley & Wendy Townsley
Trip Type: Kayak
Description: We will paddle across to Peel Island and have morning tea at Horseshoe Bay. There will be time here for a swim or a walk along the beach before we head off to Dunwich on North Stradbroke Island for lunch. We will then paddle to a little beach on the east side of Peel Island allowing time for a little exploring before returning to Raby Bay via the Northern side of Peel Island.
Being a bit more exposed than the southern bay Islands it will be necessary to have or hire kayaks with skirts.
Previous kayaking experience is essential. Route and venue may change depending on weather conditions.
Rosco or Goodtime would be the choices for kayak hire (you will need to collect and return any hired kayaks).
It is important to contact Wendy or Rob on 3202 1861 (A/H home) before the paddle - if no answer please leave message including your name & phone no. For those who have not paddled with us before, we will need to know what previous kayaking/paddling experience you have.
