Description: It is planned that we travel up to Mapleton on Friday Night and have dinner before walking to Ubajee Walkers Camp.
An excellent graded track descends 250m to Gheerula Creek where we walk beside the creek to a large waterhole where we can have a swim. After a good break, we head up to a ridge through grass trees and dry schlerophyll forest to another viewpoint then another 1.6 kms to Thilba Thalba Walkers Camp (15.8kms). We set up camp for the night.
The next morning we follow the cutting of the original Pioneers' road (known locally as the Hindu Track) and continue for 9.2 kms descending about 200m where the track crosses Delicia Road and continues down through wet sclerophyll forest to a small clearing on the banks of Gheerulla Creek. From here a short spur track leads to Gheerulla Falls (dry in the drought) where we will take a break. Back to the main track we cross the creek and ascend up the ridge to complete the circuit. (13.3kms)
